Don’t Miss Your Appointment With Jesus!
Hebrews 9:27-amp

“And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment.”

Death is a topic few desire to talk about or discuss. However, the Word of God prepares us for death. God makes sure we understand that we are not going to live in this physical body forever.

Many are going about their daily life, following a routine according to their personal schedules and desires with no thought that death can come quickly,
because death is sudden. Death is as quick as a blink of the eye. The above scripture says “It is appointed and destined for all men to die once.”
The scripture doesn’t stop there, it goes on to say, “and after this [comes certain]  judgment.” God want it understood that whether we choose to believe this truth or not, we
will all stand before Him to be judged for the deeds, or things we have done in this life.

2 Corinthians 5:10-Amplified Bible

For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the  judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in  the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and  abilities].

Let’s dissect this scripture.
1. This scripture tells us that we will be called into account, and appear before the  judgment seat of God. This is an appointment that we all will keep. No one will be able to call and say I need to reschedule this appointment. It doesn’t matter if you believe it or not. Every man, woman, boy and girl will stand before the judgment seat of Christ, and be judged by Him.

2. The next thing that we need to understand is that we will be judged by Jesus Christ for the things we have done in this life, whether good or bad. Many people have nasty spirits and bad attitudes. They think they have the right to treat people any way they won’t. Not so! God is going to repay the wicked of heart. We better be careful how we treat people. We will see it again in this life, and when we stand before the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. As we further dissect this scripture, we find that at this appointment we will be repaid for some things. What is God going to repay us for? 2 Corinthians 5:10 says, “What has been done in the body, whether good or bad  [that is, each will be held responsible for:”
a. His actions. Things you do, whether good or bad.
b. Purposes. Did you fulfill Gods purpose for your life here on earth. Our life is not  about us. It’s about God.
c. Goals. What did you do with your life?
d. Motives. Meaning, why do you do what you do? Or, doing things for the wrong reason.
e. The use or misuse of his time. This means refusing to do anything to help others, or to help build God’s Kingdom.
f. Opportunities and abilities that they wasted.

While people are living without consciousness of God, and the fact that the world is racing toward the return of Jesus Christ, God wants us to consider the following
truths, not facts. Holy Spirit said a fact can be changed, but truth cannot be  changed. Truth is truth. It always remains the same.
God wants us to know:
1. We will be judged for the way we have treated people.
2. We will be judged for whether or not we obeyed His Word.
3. We will be judged for whether or not we lived according to His Word.
4. We will be judged on whether or not we lived a life of righteousness. Not based on mans standards, but according to the standard of His Word.
5. We will be judged according to whether or not we have done the things He told  us to do, including forgiving those who wronged us. Also, we need to ask those to
forgive us that we have done wrong. We love to talk about those who wronged us. But God said, “what about those we have done wrong”?

Lets see the last thing that happens at this appointment with Jesus.

Revelation 20:11-15
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life  was thrown into the lake of fire.

How not to miss our appointment with Jesus?

1. John 3:16-Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He died for your sins.
2. Romans 10:9-10-Confess your sins-wrong doings, and wicked ways. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins.
3. Galatians 5:16-Ask the Holy Spirit to help you and lead you daily to live a life that honors and pleases God.
4. Hebrews 10:25-Find a good Church that’s teaching the truth of Gods Word. This way you will grow spiritually and mature in your walk with God.
5. Luke 18:1-Pray and read your Bible. Jesus said that man ought to always pray. 2 Timothy 2:15 commands us to study the Bible. Studying the Bible teaches us how to recognize the voice of God. God speaks like He writes, and writes like He speaks.

Reading our Bibles will prevent the devil from deceiving us about the requirements of God for our life, and prevent us from living a life of sin. Spiritual ignorance of the Word leads to a life of habitual sin that is sure to bring the wrath and judgment of God on those who walk in continual disobedience. Ignorance of the Bible is no excuse for sinning. Many have lost the favor of God on their life because they won’t stop sinning.

In closing, God wants us to know that He is the gate keeper of death. All will die one day. Don’t miss your appointment. Be ready to meet Him. Make sure Jesus is Lord, and Savior of your life.

Pray this simple prayer. Lord Jesus, I come to you as a sinner. I have sinned against God, and His Word. I believe that You are His son, and You came into this world to save sinners like me. I ask You, Lord Jesus to forgive me of all my sins. Save me. Fill me with Your precious Holy Spirit. Teach me how to live for You. Teach me how to love You, and Father God. Jesus, deliver me from the power and control of satan. Fill me with Your peace and power. Bless my life as I live for You. Amen!
